So many people in our world today find themselves in different kinds of relationships and when these relationships end moving on becomes a very huge problem for some persons. While there are so many possible reasons why most people find it very hard to move on from a failed relationship, the issue of soul ties is the least discussed because not a lot of persons understand what soul tie is all about. Some who got to learn about it still don’t believe it.
Well, today you will learn about this subject because it’s one of the least discussed but mostly the cause why so many persons find it difficult to move past a failed relationship. So if you are struggling to move on from a failed relationship then this is for you.
What is Soul Tie?
A soul tie is a deep bond between two persons who were intimate with each other. Sometimes it has spiritual deep connections too.
Most people get to this stage in a relationship when their partner or both of them had a strong role in influencing each other’s lives in such a way that a deep bond is created which they now call themselves soul mate.
At first, this soul mate thing might not look like a problem because both of them are still together and deeply in love. The problem usually comes when the relationship ends but one partner or both of them find it very difficult to move on with their life or love again because of this deep feeling of emotional connection and this is when the soul mate, soul tie situation becomes a problem.
Soul tie like I mentioned is not entirely bad. It has its goodness. For example, a husband and his wife who are working with God in their marriage, enjoying their marriage union, and are soul tied have nothing to worry about or anything to lose. This is because they have each other forever.
The Bible said in Ephesians 5:31, “For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.”
One flesh doesn’t end in the physical. It’s more of a soulish bond. Physically the man is still a man and the woman a woman, but in spirit and soul, they are now bonded.
This is why it’s very dangerous to have sex outside marriage. Look at this next scripture.
1 Corinthians 6:16, “What? know ye not that he which is joined to a harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.”
If you are sleeping with someone that is not your husband or wife you are exposing yourself to a possible soul tie, because like the husband and wife, a soul-bonding is taking place because sex is not only physical and this births the other kind of soul tie which is an unhealthy soul tie.
This is to say that one thing that has been discovered is that most people who have these soul tie issues have been involved in sex with the person they are soul tied to. So, Sex is usually the primary cause.
SIGNS THAT YOU ARE SOUL TIED TO SOMEONE
1. You are in a toxic relationship and you find it very hard to quit.
I believe that nobody in their right sense will love to be in an abusive relationship, but today we see a lot of them. Some say it’s love but i don’t agree at all. This is a soul tie because love doesn’t take away your ability to be reasonable.
Low self-esteem might be contributing factor to stay in an abusive relationship but when you look at the bigger picture you will discover that these persons claim to love these persons abusing them that they won’t mind being abused as long as they have that relationship. When you think about it it doesn’t sound normal.
So if you find yourself in this situation then it’s a possible soul tie situation.
2. You are obsessively thinking about a person or an ex.
When someone takes over your thought or you start obsessing about someone then it’s a possible soul tie situation. If you find yourself making comments like if i dont have you nobody will then this is a soul tie situation. If you find yourself always dewing into about your past partner years after the break up then it’s not just you not being able to move on, it’s a possible soul tie situation.
3. Even though the relationship is over you still want to tell them everything happening to you.
This is more like seeking their approval before you do anything even when they are the ones that hurt and broke your heart. You still share your life activity with them even though they don’t really care, and they don’t share theirs with you.
4. When you are having sex as a married man or woman and you are thinking about your ex.
This happens to a lot of persons in their marriages and for some after a breakup for those who are not abstaining from sex. Sometimes they imagine being with their ex to get sexual satisfaction. This is not healthy and it’s a sign you are soul tied to that image or person you think about during sex.
5. You are always defending your ex or someone whether they are right or wrong before your partner and sometimes you compare them with your partner.
This shows you are yet to get over your ex. It becomes very worrisome if you start putting them ahead of your current partner. it’s no longer just about not being able to move on, it is now more of a soul tie situation.
HOW TO BREAK FREE FROM SOUL TIE
1. You need to admit you have this problem.
This is where healing starts. Most people find it very difficult to solve problems because they are still living in denial. until you accept that something is wrong then will you start to attract a possible solution. Therefore look at your situation based on the signs mentioned above and know if this is a problem for you.
2. You can speak to a therapist or your pastor.
Let someone help you walk through the situation. Proverbs 11:14 says, “Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counselors there is safety”. Sometimes all you need is someone who has been in your situation to get to hear what you are going through. God has equipped men to help us too, so find a trusted person and share your story with them and let them help you walk through it.
3. Pray Pray Pray.
This is one of the most powerful ways you can break it. This is because sometimes this soul tie can go beyond the physical into the spiritual so you need spiritual help. So pray, ask a friend or mentor to pray with you. Prayer breaks chains and opens doors.
4. Remove everything that reminds you of that person you are soul tied to.
This is very important. No matter how precious these items might be to you. You need to let it go so it doesn’t remind you about them. Block them online and remove their number from your phone. Taking this step will give you something that will remind you less about them.
